Bug causes TBC Beta to be downloadable for some players

UPDATE: Josh Allen, a Blizzard employee known as Lore, has posted on Twitter that the Burning Crusade Classic beta has not actually launched, and that this is a bug.

Hey hi hello Burning Crusade beta has NOT begun and no one outside of Blizzard has been flagged for access yet.

There’s a bug causing something to show up on the launcher for some people – this has nothing to do with whether or not you’ll have access when it goes live.

Some lucky people have gotten access to test out the beta of TBC. They don’t have access to it yet but are able to download the client files in preparation. There aren’t any notifications so if you want to see if you are one of those few people, check your launcher for a new options in the Development section of the launcher. Hopefully this will mean that we will be seeing more news on hard dates for other TBC related releases. The official start of beta is going to be just around the corner!
