It was first introduced/added in late 2009 by blizz. So i hope it will not be available at launch. If it is not available at launch, they probably will add it later.... but im not sad if they dont ever add it to wow classic.

Race and faction changes will more than likely not be added during Classic.

Just watched some interviews that got released today. They mentioned that they plan to add paid server-transfer to classic. So i think there is a good chance to also see paid faction changes at some point.

Server transfers existed during Vanilla, yes.

Race and faction changes came way later, and won't be in Classic.

I don't think so since that would be changing classic and most of the community is against that.

You could only make characters of a single faction on each server right? So a faction change service would have to be bundled with a server transfer at the very least.

Idk... Popped into my head seeing as Blizz is still a company and would try to capitalize if they could. That's why I thought about it.

Only one faction per realm on PvP realms.

For PvE realms you can make both factions on the same realm. Confirmed by blue post and I also tested this in Beta too.

Aha I see, thanks for clearing that up for me. I remember it was like that in tbc but i’ve seen a lot of people on reddit and other forums talking about and not making a distinction between server types, so i figured it could have been something that was changed in tbc.
Hmm this could make me reconsider the realm type I’d go for...

Ion Hazzikostas: Definitely not at launch. We may down the line if it's something that players want. When we say the shop I mean specifically only the services that were available in the original Classic period. Things like server transfers and race changes were available later in Classic. I could see a world in--let's say a year into Classic--as realms have become mature where a player wants to transfer to a different server to join a guild there to play with their friends, and they want us to provide a way that can make it happen. That's the sort of things we would do but no pets and mounts for sale or anything like that.

He didn't specify whether or not race change includes being able to change faction, but he does mention including only services that were availabIe back in Classic times. Don't remember whether or not you could change faction on a PvP-Realm back in Vanilla, though.

Most unlikely, hope it does not.
I do know that realm transfer wen a server was overpopulated, you hade a choise of two realms that was not so populated and it was free.
That i do not mind at all as long it stays the old ways of realm transfer.

Only true for pvp realms.

I think that with the way they intend to set up layering, faction transfers will probably only be a thing when the classic servers are shrinking to a point that transfers are needed (in the opposite way of how it was in vanilla).
