Why?
Partly because it's a really good arms weapon for warriors a good bit up until 60 imo, but mostly because it looks so damn cool. I remember the first time I got it on my old warrior back in the day and felt invincible. So it's a big deal of nostalgia for me also! AV is also a really amazing place to do pvp in, when world pvp died out that bg still felt like it was a huge war torn piece of land that we needed to control, and not just a arena like wsg

If Classic never updates and stays around for years Ateish is doable and if Ferrari release a model for $25,000 its doable.

Yep, very doable. We will see MC pugs within a month or two of its release on most servers. After Naxx has been out for 6+ months on a server it will be no different. Major guilds will start to sell carries and items after they have Naxx on farm. More and more guilds will rise to the occasion and down the content. Geared players will begin to migrate around and bring their gear and experience to other guilds who will then be able to face the content using crutches. After a long period passes Naxx trash runs will begin to be common practice and they will be farmed by pugs constantly which will eventually evolve into the content being fully pugable. Getting Ateish is just a matter of time and Classic isn't going anywhere in the foreseeable future.
The difference between Ateish and a Ferrari is that you will have to work towards a Ferrari and Ferraris arent going to get cheaper (unless youre buying used bla bla bla, lets use the analogy for what its worth). If you wait long enough, grinding out Ateish will get easier and easier and easier. Still a challenge, but not what it was in vanilla.

This weapon is not dropped, but rather may be created by anyone who has obtained both the Sulfuron Hammer and the Eye of Sulfuras. A blacksmith with a minimum skill of 300 is required to make a Sulfuron Hammer, and the Eye drops only and rarely from Ragnaros himself. The Plans: Sulfuron Hammer are obtained from A Binding Contract by turning in a Sulfuron Ingot into Lokhtos Darkbargaine in the Grim Guzzler in Blackrock Depths.
There is no reputation requirement to receive the plans.
It’s there in the comments too, in addition to a step by step;
1. Go to Molten Core
2. Drop Sulfuron Ingot from Golemagg the Incinerator
3. Go to Lokhtos Darkbargainer in Grim Guzzler in Blackrock Depths
4. Exchange 1 Sulfuron Ingot for Plans: Sulfuron Hammer
5. From this moment begins the hardest part. You must do Sulfuron Hammer! You need:
8x Sulfuron Ingot
20x Dark Iron Bar
50x Arcanite Bar
25x Essence of Fire
10x Blood of the Mountain
10x Lava Core
10x Fiery Core
6. If u have Sulfuron Hammer you need only one thing! You must drop Eye of Sulfuras from Ragnaros in Molten Core.
7. Combine Eye with Sulfuron Hammer and create your Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros.
8. Congratulations!
