I started WoW in BC.
I was really impressed after crossing the portal and panning my camera around to see what I came out of, then I looked up and I thought wow.
after playing around in hellfire for a bit I got one hit by the Fel Reaver who was walking around off-camera.

Barrens is probably my favourite questing zone.

The first character I ever created was a nelf druid. Upon completing character creation, I zone into the game for the first time. I find myself surrounded by probably 20+ other lvl 1 characters in various states of undress, dancing, dueling, licking, and mooing at each other. I was blown away by this strange new world.

One time I walked into org to discover a line of dancing (druid) bears stretching from the gate to the bank.

My first undead character I decided to be a traveling salesman and made my first gold by selling tailoring and enchanting products to other noobs.

For me entering Stormwind for the first time is one of my fondest memories. I was mostly playing alone, following the human quest chains, got the quest from Goldshire to deliver to stormwind. I legit had to ask someone in /s 'where is stormwind' and they pointed me down the road. It was night, I had the headset on with sound turned up. I approached the city, the music changed, I looked up and the music with the view matched together perfectly. The imersion was real, the wow was there. I spent an hour getting lost in the city and exploring.

When my friends and I made our twinks, we all decided to go as rogues, since we were teens at the time and I don't think I had even heard of other kinds of twinks. For level 19's, the BiS sword that didn't have an abysmal drop rate was Cruel Barb, a drop from VanCleef, in the Deadmines. I remember being a low level rogue and swimming down the coast to try to find the easiest way there without getting killed, my friends and I swimming together. We eventually made it, then had to stealth our way past alliance characters and mobs to the entrance where our friend's high level character finally met up with us.
We ran that dungeon 20 times and all of us had gotten our gear except one. Incredibly, run after run, that Cruelest of Barbs was just not going to drop for this guy.
Finally we actually put in a ticket with a GM and told him of our plight, and he said something like, "Let me talk to Mr. VanCleef and see what i can do."
Next run, we got it! I have no idea what or how that GM did what he did but man, we were all blown away. I'll never forget that.

Everything before expansions provides an abundance of great memories for me. It's why I'm elated we are getting Classic to experience it all again the way it used to be when it was really enjoyable to play and I couldn't pull myself away from it. 2 hours of retail and I'm calling it quits for the day. Classic was an all day affair with never enough time in the day to get things done.

My best friend and I were playing WoW for the first time right at the end of TBC. We were low level and crossed over into Darkshore too soon, only to be chased out by a giant Dire Wolf! That was an exciting experience! We tried to run into the water in the hopes that the wolf couldn't swim! Haha!

I have 3 that instanty comes into my mind;

1. The launch day, creating 3 dwarves with friends and running through Dun Morogh.. seeing Ironforge for the first time.

2. Opening the gates of Ahn Qiraj (I was class leading druids in Redrum Inc. on Ravenholdt server, we opened the gates despite the Horde and Alliance guilds who were all together against us for jellly reasons)

3. Legion was my favorite expansion after a very long time, we asked a random dwarf at a romantic spot with my bestfriend.. to marry us there.. cus he was a priest.. u know. And he took it so literraly serious that it was kind of an event. He started copy pasting these lines from an actual speech. It was really long lol.. and than the ''Do you take this demon hunter as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?" and I was like ''Yes'' + ''/nod'' etc.

Some unique some not we all have tons of stories like these. From infamous ganker encounters to STV Arena stuff, World Bosses in PvP servers, guild dramas and even community dramas. (we had communities back than) We had tons of fun in that much smaller and slower world. Now it is very exciting to be able to go back.

I was 15 when the game first came out:)

Hope you all have a great time in Classic!

For me it was on my Shaman. At around level 18 I had done my first battleground. Being ignorend I thought it was called a raid. I met another Shaman who became part of my guild. And I would take him on his first raid, as I told me. His name was Snorki and he was from Romania (I`m from Holland). I sadly do not remember what server it was on. I think Dragonmaw? Eu pvp server. We would play together until I quit 2 months later.
It is not a spectacular story. But I kind of hope he reads this so we can play together once more. Eventhou the chance is quite slim.

I was playing at an internet cafe, there were other people playing and the game was very new. I leveled to 10 with my human warlock I thought I was strong enough to face some real enemies - meaning horde.

I looked at the map to find where horde might be. I had no idea. I haven't even been to Stormwind yet.

Then I saw undercity in map, I guess I remembered it from WC3. I didn't know how long it would take. It took so much time and it was a real pain. I wondered why I was seeing skulls instead of mob's levels. I learned it much later.

On the north, I couldn't see a way from Loch Modan to Wetlands but I saw the huge dam connecting them. I thought jumping to the river below was the only way to get there, which felt weird. I thought about it for half an hour before I jumped.

After all I was in west tirisfal glades and it was the first time I saw an undead, with it's name written on his head. I almost shat my pants, everyone in the internet cafe got up came to look. I started casting immolate and killed the undead, only to find out it had LOOT! It was an NPC!!! Ofc it couldn't stop me from going near the zeppelin and killing the real noobs.
