Never managed to get that awesome weapon you wanted? Did you spend your raiding career in a role you despised or stayed in a guild that couldn't make it past the first trash pull in a raid to save their lives? Perhaps the PvP title you so coveted escaped your grasp, or maybe it was something not in game and leaned more towards the players that inhabited the world. Describe and share some of the regrets you have obtained throughout the years of delving into the world of Azeroth, also in an attempt to brighten the mood and keep the topic somewhat lighthearted, with the release of Classic do you intend to fulfill those lingering wants and desires?
I can tell you one of my greatest regrets is not starting WoW sooner, I started playing roughly 5 months after the NA launch as I had gotten the game for my birthday, and while that may seem an insignificant amount of time to some, you always want more of what you enjoy! Another one I have is loosing all of the screenshots and videos of my early days in WoW, yes I still cling to many of the memories, but having a visual for some of those events would be so much more gratifying.
Not pushing Arena or RBGs harder.
I was 110% in on Vanilla and got just about everything accomplished that a Priest could want during that time frame.
I do regret giving my 2nd (Rank 11) account away from Vanilla though. I dont have any of that awesomeness on live right now.

One day one of our friends talked about this new game that just released and was way better than RS. Me and the other guys stuck to our guns and ribbed our buddy over leaving RS for this new scrub game.
A few years later I was introduced to WoW for the second time and gave it a shot. Wish I started at release ever since!

Biggest regret is that I started on a French server because a mate was on there. I speak a bit but not enough slang and defo not enough French gamer chat. Barely ever did dungeons/group stuff because of that. Was only in wotlk that I switched to English and actually played the game as it's supposed to be - with people! This is the main reason why I'm so up for Classic, it'll be almost like playing it for the first time
Two regrets :

Second one is that I missed the opening of the Ahn'Qiraj gates, even though it was, apparently, a major shitshow.

Yeah I wish I had started earlier but actually knew what the game was about. I probably spent the first 3-4 months playing the game just constantly rolling characters, leveling them to 14 or 15, then starting a new one.
I wish I had found a good guild earlier / made more connections. Don't really have anyone in particular to play with now. It's funny because back growing up it made far more sense to make friends IRL because that's just what you do, so I only played WoW with those I met IRL. Now that I'm a college graduate whose gone off to work, only one of my IRL friends live close to where I am but they don't play WoW, and the connections to others have dwindled. That's partly why I can't wait for classic though, as the community will go back to the way it was and new friends will be made for everyone very easily. With the way the world is now and where jobs are it's funny how people no longer stay in their hometown (myself included) meaning that you either make connections online that you can always use, or try again and again IRL.

It was an absolute shitshow, and it was amazing fun. This should definitely be on peoples regret list if they missed it. I don't even know if I was 60, I think I was - but damn, it was mental/fun.

Same here. During one of my many PC upgrades since 2006 I lost my vanilla screenshots. The oldest ones I have are from early TBC.
I always dreamed of taking things slow and exploring the BRD properly. A dungeon of that size with so many wings, plus the dwarven aesthetic is just amazing. But I only ran it post vanilla with pugs, so everybody just wanted to rush to bosses asap. I hope to find a group this time that would also like to take their time and appreciate the place. Also I never could catch up with current tier raids, finishing it not earlier than the next patch. Although Classic isn't the best option for that with my semi-casual playstyle :mrgreen:
My biggest regret was losing touch with my guild and it's, at least in part, my fault.
I was in a really close-knit casual raiding guild. We were never super-hardcore but we took our raiding seriously and we turned up to raids on time, with consumables and enough money to cover our repair costs. We had Onyxia and MC on farm and a few people had completed their T1 sets but the bulk of players were still working on theirs. We had started progression into BWL and were struggling with Razorgore and this is where the trouble started.
Some of the officers wanted to cancel our MC raids and dedicate more time to BWL. Others were happy with our level of progress and wanted to continue farming MC each week. To cut a long story short, it got a bit heated and relationships were damaged. I never felt quite at home again in the guild and eventually left. I never found another guild like it.
For my part, I could have handled the situation differently. I really wish I had.
