Not sure my silverpine will be good, it might be faster for repack, but it will make u behind the pack in barrens. My silver route is bassicly my old barrens route but i skip 2nd centuar boss and stonetalon. In old run i did both of these and farmed more which made up for the exp i get in silverpine. The main reason i do silverpine was for sword weapon upgrades (best i can get 10-15) this is why i save a lot of time, while at the same time doing the easy silverpine quests and hearth back. I think my original route can work for warlock, but u need to change when u go learn spells and maybe u shouldnt go thunderbluff (i do for mace skill, for a lvl 16 upgrade).

I made like 3 or 4 mins of obvious mistakes so I could get sub 1:45, but my main goal is to route a full 1-60 so I'll probably just leave my time here. I wanted to sacrifice everything past level 10 just to see how low I could get the time. I sold bags and cloth and all that just to buy weapon/armor from vendor sooner. Obviously in a real longer run I won't be doing that. I did a more realistic run before and it was about 1:52 if i remember right. My route for this video is pretty grind heavy after level 5 because the palemane mobs are the best xp/hr until level 10, plus I can do all the quests in the surrounding area in between easily. Hopefully other people upload mulgore speedruns of any class because I'm curious what others do.
And if you are wondering why I'm crazy and am running Tauren Warrior, it's only because that will be my non-speedrun main and I want to level it fast on launch :) ... so yeah my real plan on launch will incorporate far different strategies at times to account for what will and will not likely be viable in the launch chaos.
Thank you for this! I learned quite a lot from your run :)
I am getting under impression that speedrunning is not for me at all. I see all your great times and then around lvl 8 I check my time in practice runs and its usually around 1h45m (as a tauren hunter). Those pesky dwarves keep kicking my butt.
I do not like to grind as it is horribly tedious activity for me so that might be the reason for my worse times :D
Anyway, good job and good luck everyone! :)
E: Just below 3h, shame :(
I wouldn't feel too discouraged. Maybe speedruns aren't your thing, but only practice can make it better. I also got inspired to try my hand at leveling to 10. Took me about 3 hrs 15 min and that was with accidentally keeping god mode on at points where I should have died!

The thing is I don't like grinding and I have prepared route which involve as little grinding as possible. So now I am wondering how to try speedrunning without grinding. Practice definitely help and also helps checking other videos how other people did it. I will also now try it on more populated servers as it will be more realistic to what will be on classic.
And that it is for me - preparation for classic, I know I will not be no1 here. :)
Thanks for kind words :)
I went from 2:27 on ND 1-10 to 1:38 on repack in like 2-3 months of practice with a full time job and a kid. That’s quite a noticeable impact for getting ahead on a fresh server. Don’t expect to just start doing it and get immediate results, I play high AF so I have to learn everything the hard way.
How do you guys anticipate having to change your routes come launch. Alot of the grinding will be almost impossible, do you figure rushing out of the starting zone is going to be the best shot?

Did you try again on ND after that practice? I would be interested how would more people playing around change your times. To get better idea what time you can expect on classic.
I have been trying speed runs on both Durotar and Tirisfal Glades area as a mage and seems I am stuck on around 2 hours, give or take 1-2 minutes to hit level 10. Normally it takes me 31-35 minutes to get out of the initial 1-5 area at around 5.7-5.8 experience levels. I'm looking for ways to shave off some time and optimizing my route. I could use some advice. Things I already do:
I understand there will be additional challenged depending on how many people are around and how much sharding is affecting the population. This has effect of delaying completion of some kill quests and making few quests easier like Gnoll Boss and Crypt (not really doable solo for me or taking too long time as it will be 4 pull without getting to initiate the fight or have distance to start first)

I think I can definitely do sub 1:50 on ND but it’s really dependent on how many people are on leveling in starting zones when you play. I live in NA so I’m usually not on at peak times for the server.
Nice time Jokerd! Did you throw away every green that is not from quests?

I originally was planning to level to 12 since I'm eventually going to do a 1-20 run. However, I majorly messed up by not turning in a quest after the orc cave in the northeast and I never accepted the quest for the Tiragarde Keep's lockbox. Which majorily messed up my route since I would have to travel back and forth two times just to complete them, so I decided to just end it at level 11.
However, my run from 1-10 was pretty clean. I usually had my hearthstone available to me after completing the island quests but I outpaced my previous runs which forced me to run back to razor hill. So I will probably save my hearthstone for that point on future runs. This run however, I ended up using my hearthstone after killing the Fizz guy, which I normally don't do (I usually kill myself there).
I linked the video up above if anyone is curious for my route. I am a shaman so that really helps out since they seem to be very efficient at kill times from 5-10. If you have any suggestions/critique, please fire away.

Not surprised at all - I felt like a monster in Durotar on a shaman. Nice work.
30-40 uploaded on YT for my Paladin run.

Working on some other stuff now so 40-60 will be put on hold for now
I know it might be a bit off topic here, but I'm trying to speedrun only by grinding mobs from 10-20.
Im playing a NE Druid and I feel pretty confident that I can do it with almost 0 downtime. At a Classic launch, could this be almost as efficient as questing? Any suggestions on what I could work on to maximise efficiency?

I'm intrigued to hear more about this approach. Let me know if you test it.
