There is even more interest in Cat and MoP servers than Classic

With regard to debates over questions like "Classic Plus versus Burning Crusade" and "which expansions should get legacy servers?", I very, very frequently hear the opinion that Blizz should release Classic, BC, and Wrath, and then stop there and not do Cataclysm or MoP.

With all due respect, that's a load of crap. Cat and MoP servers would be even more successful than classic ones.

Coolio. I’m happy with just Classic myself.

Facebook users in a random Facebook group are now the representation of the entire World of Warcraft player base?

I must've taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque.

Why do we constantly talk about other expansions in a classic forum? And expect people to agree with anything but classic?

Think about that for a while if you need to. Your basically asking a bunch of baseball players to switch to basketball.

Yes.

You certainly are. Thanks for notifying us.

Because Classic is currently attracting literally everyone who thinks that modern WoW sucks, regardless of what their preferred version of the game is. Classic is the stepping stone to all other types of legacy servers.

You're, and no. I'm not asking anyone to switch to anything.

Why do people put so much weight in what polls say? As an American, I learned a lot from the 2016 election.

Even still, evaluating this, I'll put a few points into perspective:

1) More people were playing in Wrath than any other expansion to date. So, servers were more active, more friendships were made, the rose tint was way more vivid.

2) Wrath made gearing out WAAAAY easier for the first time. TBC was significantly easier than Vanilla and Wrath was way easier than TBC. So it was definitely enjoyable for folks. Unfortunately, this positive reinforcement was taken off the deep end, because from then on, purples were handed out like freakin' candy.

3) TBC is basically a smoothed out version of Vanilla. The game was MOSTLY unchanged, the talent trees were still in their original, awesome form, but the bugs were significantly more hammered out, the necessity for 40-man raids was removed, and they opened the game up to more and more people. (Plus, Karazhan as a raid was outright perfection.)

4) It would be silly, in my opinion, for Blizzard to restart WoW smack in the middle of the storyline as our characters have experienced them. They took a chance on Classic, and it's paid off well. What they will do next is uncertain, but in no way would anyone ever expect them to just start a new Wrath server set.

Just my thoughts. Don't take 'em as gospel.

I want a legacy server for BFA patch 8.1. Let me relive the glory days of a few months ago.

Not surprising, the casual demographic really kicked in post Wrath.

Another week, another 'Future of Classic' thread by Black Monarch.

While we are all here, who already got his epic mount of you guys? Would much rather discuss that on a weekly basis.

I'm a couple of bubbles away from 39. I'm not gonna have enough gold for my first mount, let alone an epic at 60

Yes, the gold grind is harsh. I'm not near 40 at all, but due to some smart choices right at the start I'm sure I can afford my 40 mount right away!

I'm currently 33 and have like 5g, I assume I'm screwed but I also remember making almost the full 90g while questing in STV somehow on my rogue on private so who knows.

I'd go as far as to say it kicked in during Wrath itself, I'm sure many here remember the term "Wrath Babies" that popped out back then.

Even if Cat and MoP servers would be even more successful than Classic ones, which is laughable, why do you think people in a Classic community forum would care? We're not here because we want to play the most *potentially* "successful" expansion, and we're certainly not the audience that's going to help you petition Blizzard to make the case for Cat or MoP. Go speak out in that Facebook group instead.
