Something different I am excited about in classic

Hi all.

One thing I am looking forward to is everything in game being relevant. What I mean is you can't stumble on an item or quest that is "from a previous expansion" or "doesn't apply any more". During leveling in different expansions since WotLK (when I started playing) I've been very disappointed to find something cool and just think "oh that must have been cool when it was relevant in the game". I am guessing also that must apply to professions as well.

So I am really excited about playing the game and not seeing any stuff "form the past" and just breezing past it.

What do you think?

Yeah I agree with you there for sure. I played heavily during tbc, wotlk, barely any cata, barely any mop, no wod, a lot of legion and a little of boa. And it really is odd when you run into stuff from past expansions that is just irrelevant, outdated, or almost clashes with current information. It heavily breaks any sort of immersion. So you're dead on about everything being relevant again. It will be very nice to know every item or quest is "current".

Definitely agreed. Recently leveled an alt in Legion zones and kept getting quest rewards that have been turned into grey vendor junk because you no longer power the artifact weapon. #FeelsBadMan

So hype for Classic

Yes this is very true. Also getting pieces on item sets will feel so good!

Whenever I try to get back into retail I get lost, don't know where I am, don't know what zones are current, don't know how to get from one place to another. I wander around lost and confused for a half hour and then give up.

Related to your idea about everything being relevant, I like that the original game is big enough to feel huge but not so big that it's impossible to know where I am at any given time

Profession items feel relevant to the game and original too.
Rather than having 100's of variants like https://www.wowhead.com/item=72096/ghost-iron-bar and https://www.wowhead.com/item=23445/fel-iron-bar or https://www.wowhead.com/item=109119/true-iron-ore .
we are back with good ol' https://www.wowhead.com/item=3575/iron-bar + https://classic.wowhead.com/item=11371/dark-iron-barit and so it feels like a normal game again without any of this fel infused Draenor azerite power.

YES! I have multiple reagent banks and guild bank tabs dedicated to crap that used to be important, but isn't anymore except to players who want to craft some old-timey transmog pieces. Cores of Earth, AQ scarabs, troll coins, murloc scales, I have no idea what most of this shit is for but I'm holding onto it anyway just in case. And sometimes, it comes in handy. Like just recently, I ran BWL for priest mogs and Nefarian dropped a blacksmithing recipe for an item whose appearance wasn't in my wardrobe. My priest mailed the recipe to my blacksmith, and my primary bank alt was able to quickly scrounge up and transmute the necessary amount of enchanted leather, arcanite bars, and whatever the hell else that recipe called for.

But yeah it'll be nice for all that crap to be relevant for something other than making old-timey xmog items.

Don't even get me started on the nerfing of our artifact weapons that we spent 2 years powering up.

I like having Classic as a static thing. Which means I will ultimately do all raids at some point (except AQ40 and Naxx probably).
So I can stop and smell the flowers on the way. The content is not going away!

I was really happy to get to play the trial for a few days and now I really can't wait for it. It's just a great blast from the past.

This is tremendously huge for me. It breaks my heart every time I look at the map in retail and see how much of it I don't ever need to visit at all.

This was a great video! It really confirms my thoughts that most likely the journey to 60 will be quite a lot of fun.

So like... literally all of it outside your starting 1-10 zone?

100%, and the fact that I won't be bored out of my mind when I'm on my PC any longer. Thank you Classic.
