Anything that doesn't break the fourth wall too much is fine by me.
An example for a rogue with bad imagination listed from best to worst:
I guess after "Stabby" is my cut-off point for names that are just "too much"
This list actually goes along the categories of naming a character  The last one is pretty funny though.
I feel that such name as "Noobgotstabbed" would make me somewhat overly-aggressive in the game, comparing with "Stabron" which sounds kind of noble and not pulling into brainless gankfest (corpse camping included).
Lol "brainless." Salty about all the undead rogues I see.

As it happens to be, my last main was a rogue. So much joy! But yeah, sometimes this corpse camping thing makes you think if the guy on the other side has something placed in between his ears.
I am now actually considering picking a name in my native language - some people really tend to do that. Kind of like this idea, as you can pick pretty much whatever you feel like. In addition, I usually whisper something to the random people not from my guild who are obviously my countrymen and it turns out to be a nice chit-chat.
What do you think about this guys?
Razor I actually really like lithuanian names, would be cool.

I was wondering on the general topic of names in native language - do you guys do that? Why?
Thanks though, Faendor!
I personally have never done that but I know many people who do, but the reason why is still a mystery to me.
People always get my name wrong for some reason on voice chat. I have no idea why.
I often get called ‘trebling’, ‘tabling’ or ‘tabbing’. Why is it so hard? Tee-bling.
I've always been Light. I hope to spam the character creation screen again and get the same name for my Paladin.
I have a gnome female mage (with pigtails!) named Happiness, and a Human Rogue named Stab.
In the first instance I'd like my own name - James!
Failing that a derivative of my name, like Jim or Jimbo.
I would tell you but then you all would steal them! I used my favorite songs on many toons.
I'm part of group 3. I chose Dolamite, an old school R-Rated comedian.
I'm all over the place when trying to come up with a name. I usually overthink it until I become frustrated with myself and just settle with something random. But I usually stick with something more "serious" than comical.
The way I did it was make notes whenever I came up with something that sounds cool. Eventually, you will find something that clicks, just takes time!
Just depends on where I am playing and what I am playing. More often than not, I choose a serious name. However, if I know I'm pretty much only going to pvp, I use couchatron or a variant thereof.
Teeny, 'cause I'm a Gnome.
Then Teenie, 'cause that character is also a Gnome.
Then Teenee, 'cause that character is also a Gnome.
There might be a pattern...
I always end up choosing a semi-serious name. It's an actual name but it's not uber RP. I usually think a lot about my names because I have to imagine someone calling me that over Discord or whatever, and especially with vanilla, it sucks to get to 60 only to regret your name and cringe every time anyone says it.

I used to have a rogue called Moulin. Technically I still have it, but it's highly unlikely I'll ever play it again.
This time around I think I'll just go with absolutely stupid meme-names that will instantly give away my nationality.
My first 60 I named Kalmar just out the blue which is a pretty big city in Sweden so I got hurdy gurdy whispers for years. Sorry I don't speak Ikea.
Dolamite is always my first and foremost choice. After that, my warrior was named after my mountain bike that I had purchased weeks before WoW came out. Lol. . . After that I have always used a mixture of tool song names or historical figures of interest to me.

I don't recall you having a warrior named "Huffy"
