I arrived late to the beggining of World of Warcraft, I started playing in 2.3 so I missed the frenzy of those first raids of 40 and started experiencing the first changed to ease the leveling experience (lesser elites and new questing zones with easier quests); while I always wanted to experience vanilla I don't regret my playtime during 2004-2007. Back then I played a lot of Lineage 2 (c3 & c4 mainly) with a couple of friends on private servers; it was a lot of fun: pvp battles with a lot of players in open field, castle sieges and city control between clans, special dungeons that only opened some days and a coplue of classes focused on crafting are things I always missed on WoW. I also played a lot of Counter Strike 1.6.
What did you played back then?
I joined in WOTLK. Before that i played from time to time different games. If take MMOs that would be Lineage 2 and Ragnarok Online. But again, my Internet back then was poor quality. So i played more single player games.

Nice, single player games were more popular back then and are a great way to enjoy a story. Wich ones did you played?
Well, i try to remember some: Diablo, Titan Quest, Fallout, Arcanum, Planescape: Torment, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Siege, Heroes of might and magic, X-Tension. But there were definitely more and they are all awesome :)

Was playing Warcraft III and Diablo II well into WoW’s release cycle. I remember actually being pissed off that WoW was reusing icons from WC3 for some reason lol.
I started playing WoW at the end of Legion and a bit of BFA.
Before that I played many different games, but most of the time my main games were League of Legends and Counter Strike. Still play them from time to time, but not like I used to. Back in the day used to grind Mu Online as well. From reset to reset...
Joined in WOTLK (was already playing Vanilla private servers). Played a LOT of Doom/Doom 2 and every FPS I could find (Ken's Labyrinth, Nitemare 3D, Duke3D, Catacomb Abyss etc.). Also enjoyed RPG-explorable games like Morrowind
I played a lot of Dungeon Siege I & Neverwinter Nights I too. Loved those games and hated what became with DS3 & NWN 2...
I've been playing WoW since release in feb 2005, but before that I played Diablo II LoD all the way baby!
I started playing the week before Patch 3.3 came out. Before that I didn't really play MMORPGs; I think I tried the original Guild Wars and hated it. DIdn't play many computer games back then.
I didn't play much during Vanilla days either, but when I did, my time was dedicated to Diablo II. Occasionally I would switch to something like Heroes of Might and Magic III and come back to Diablo later.
Might have been Counter Strike but it is so long I cannot even remember.
I did play Vanilla but I was a little late to the party because I had played Star Wars Galaxies, until they destroyed the game with the combat upgrade re-balance nonsense... so fitting that it basically spells "CURB" because it certainly curbed my interest in the game.
SWG was my first MMO and ultimately the reason I got into WoW.
Cheers.
I was fairly young and I didn't get a laptop until mid TBC, I didn't get an experience of Vanilla or TBC except for on private.
I was playing the N64 and Gamecube when classic was around, I wasn't aware of how good WoW was at the time being occupied with school.
I had Metroid prime, Eternal Darkness, Banjo-Kazooie-tooie and GTA-SA
Diablo II LoD all the way baby!
This was me from 2000-2004 solid everyday. Then SWG, CoH, WoW. I obviously always came back to it though. When I was bored of MMOs, I'd be on Diablo 2.

Dude, the original SWG was fucking incredibly good. Me and my mates played it, and before it was turned into a Star Wars reskin of Everquest, it was the best MMO out. City of Heroes had the best coop fun, SWG had the best roleplaying elements. Housing in that game was fantastic.
in 2004 was when i first discovered runescape, probably my first taste of mmo games. then went on to guild wars and lord of the rings online before starting wow in 2007 when tbc was out. could only afford the sub then when i had a job. but i remember in general chat channels of lotro especially, people would always talk shit about wow and how it was full of degenerates lmao

I always heard that SWG had the best crafting system, I really enjoy the crafting part of MMOs and always regret a little bit that WoW derailed it in TBC. I always wanted to try the SWG one, never heard why it was so good.
