i am really suprised by the amount of lost Accounts or hacked ones. I have my Bnet acc since WC3 (technically since WC2) and never lost any other Account to hackers.
I cant speak for everyone else, but when addons started to become prevalent you had to go to some pretty seedy websites to get an edge... I know this is when me and my friends first started having some account security issues. Also, when Blizz released recruit a friend bonuses I began making new accounts periodically to benefit from the insane experience bonus. At this point I always had several inactive accounts, most of them have been long since abandoned tied to old emails. It would be awesome to get them all recovered and linked together but I couldn't be bothered to go through the effort or to plague someone else with the workload it would probably take. I did try to get my first account recovered but I was told I needed to send in a picture of my fathers drivers license as the account was in his name, and I cant be bothered to arrange for that with him living so far away. However I do love reading about the recovery success stories others have had.
So is anyone here going to take their time? Seems like most people are trying to hit 60 as fast as possible.

I am in no rush. I'm not going to intentionally be slow, I'm just not interested in the 'rush to 60' aspect. I'll level, quest, dungeon, pvp, professions, chat on my way to 60 and enjoy it. I don't see myself being a hardcore raider, so I have no need to hit 60 immediately. Plus I can't "no-life" like a lot of people.
It seems i needed a little bit more than 4 months for my first char (warlock) to reach level 60.
Aprox. after 1 year i created another char (rogue) on a fresh server. At first it was just a twink for some fun... when the char reached level 60 after almost 3 months he became my new main and did stick to him till today.

Same. I would like to raid eventually, but if it takes me a year, so be it. I can't no-life either, but I probably won't be playing any thing else for a long time after Classic releases. I'm looking forward to roasting a bone and wandering out into the wilds again.

Me too ! Good times :)
TBH, i'm expecting to get to 60 by very early October since classic is releasing on August 27th. By my current schedule, it will definitely happen.
Since my original character also only starts from level 55, I can only turn back to my memory on this topic. I reached max level at around the time AQ released and I started in September 2005 which makes it around 4 months.
Unfortunately it doesn't have my history before level 60 but holy crap, seeing my old guild name from my first level 60 is pretty insanely nostalgic. Completely forgot about it.
Anyone else a veteran of <Heroes of Salvy> on Hellscream ? lol
Weird, my original character isn't logged on here, only my alt w/ the same name.
I apparently hit 60 on February 12, 2005. I remember that I was the 4th horde character on my server to hit 60... we had like 80% alliance 20% horde and it was low pop.
I'll probably hit 60 sometime in November.
