Greetings everyone! I am new here and found you guys through a google search. You're one of the only WoW Classic forums around!
Intrigued by the idea of getting to pvp with the old system I've decided to come back... despite it being over 10 years since I played...
I was never a big raider, especially since I was probably just an annoying kid to most, but I did get gladiator and for a few months (six I think) held the highest arena rating for a protection warrior in the world.
Hoping to learn from you guys as you probably have been playing this version of the game much longer! Maybe have some laughs along the way and make some new friends playing the greatest game ever made!
Hello fellow Classic nerds! I’m Cizin, an orc warlock on Myzrael and an officer in the guild Out of the Hordeinary. I’m also an altoholic and can just as likely be found on any of my other horde or alliance toons (I have one of every class on each side, Atiesh is my ally server).
I was introduced to WoW over Christmas break in military training in 2006. I got my own account when I got back to base in January and I had made it to a whopping level 12 when BC launched. I was really only a Vanilla player on a technicality. It was the pre-BC patch the whole time I was starting my grind.
I played a mage and after everyone decided to roll a fresh server, we landed on Drenden where I renamed her Hecuba and that she remained. I was mainly in a friends and family guild called D.S. al Kodo. Toward the end of Wrath I ended up transferring server again to join another friend’s raiding guild, Spartan Law. Those were the best nights of my life.
After Wrath I didn’t have time for games as much and just sort of fizzled out into bigger life responsibilities. But now Classic is here and I’m well and truly very grown up and have my stuff sorted so that means I’m back!

This is one of two objectively best ways to enjoy this game. Be unemployed with lots of time, or have your shit together and have lots of time :lol:

Well, I certainly don’t have lots of time, but I do have a good job that doesn’t ever come home with me. I have to make the best of the time I have, but for once I don’t have to worry about paying for the next month’s sub (or being deployed in the middle of it!). Now if only I could get my wife to play, that would double my total play time, haha.

Total n00b here. I swore up and down for years when WOW first launched that I would never play this game. ...and then I did. When classic launched this year, I thought I'd give it a try. Now... I'm hooked.
I'm really digging the hell out of some classic. I have actually given retail a shot and I have to say that I just can't get behind it. When I've got a level 11 toon and I can set my auto-attack and then literally take my hands off the controls and put them up behind my head - with no fear of dying... Just... No. I'm not sure if it gets harder later on in the game, but if that's any indication of things to come, I can't in good conscience call that a "game".
I know I'm ripping on retail right out of the gate, something that I hear fans of classic often do, but I do get that retail wouldn't be a thing if it didn't work for those folks who are in to that kind of thing. Each to their own.
I love that classic makes you work for it. That it doesn't hand you everything. It's my personal preference, of course, but I like the feeling of accomplishment and a job well done - even if I had to die 20 times to do it.
I also have no idea why I'm blathering on like this. I'm not good at introducing myself. I never know what to say.

Hello all! Long time player, since 2005. I've played the game steadily since then. While I do still enjoy the retail game, I cannot lie when I say Classic scratches that nostalgia itch something fierce. There's a great many mechanics I miss from the old days, so I'm really happy to have the chance to experience them again. Also, there's so much I miss from pre-Cataclysm.
I pretty much enjoy both versions of the game as completely separate things now. Retail when I just wanna go blow stuff up on my ridiculous number of alts, and Classic when I crave the slow and steady pace and having to put in the effort to earn things.

Hey! I was doing a google search and I stumbled upon this website! Fetid of Westfall. Undead warlock. Truth be told, I never played Vanilla or Burning Crusade. I've been playing kinda on and off since Wrath. I've had a solid experience with classic so far and I can't wait to get to 60 (41 right now) Glad to be here!

Been playing WoW since vanilla, but I was a wee lad back then, thus I didn't see the endgame until the very end of tbc. Now I'm leading a chill semi hardcore guild and enjoy my time in Azeroth a lot.
I love playing and theorycrafting warrior, reading up on every new weird interaction and strategy while optimizing my gameplay but also enjoy leveling alts on calm days.

Gurgel here. Human Paladin on Mograine EU. Just started lvling.
Played WoW since Late Vanilla/ Early TBC and one of my first toons was a Human Retribution Paladin.
I had no clue what I was doing and I had no idea Retribution Paladin wasn't really viable.
But I didn't play for minmaxing back in the day and honestly minmaxing classic seems like such a waste. All though I know so much more about the game today I will try and play the game like it is supposed to be played. I will take it slow. Enjoy the zones, the quests and the dungeons. Make friends and try to slay the Horde players I come across.
I will be Retribution all the way. I love the idea of a Templar/Crusader fighting with Greatswords and Battle-Hammers using Holy magic to protect what is good and inflict damage upon foes. Is it the greatest dmgdealing class? Far from it. Will raiding guilds take me in? We'll see. I'm just here to have a grand old time, relive som nostalgia from childhood/teenage years and hopefully make some new friends.
