If you intent to raid then maybe you should not do it. The amount of drama that can errupt if she is not brought to raid or being substituted or not getting the loot she wants will make you regret it. Even if you are not involved in these decisions, you will pay it because you "did not stand up for her". Even worse she might quit and try to make you quit of this "shit, time sinking game". And this time she could justify her opinion because "she tried it".
Of course she might not be the typical woman and everything can go smooth. Your call.
If you want to introduce her gently, be careful to support her because she will die a lot. First thing to teach her is to avoid dying. Dying repetatetly will demotivate her to continue. Next thing, tell her to play a healer that will mend your wounds, while you keep away the bad guys from her. Sounds romantic and she might love it. And there is a good chance she will find raid spot!
Lastly, be midful that this is a male dominated environment. She will get a lot of attention eventually. Girls like the attention. I won't say more here.

I feel like I have just learned everything about your dating history through this one piece of salt.
Girls like the attention.
Dude...you got catfished. Don't go near anyone with a cutesy female name who posts lots of hearts and smileys into chat with less than a ten foot pole. It's the lure.
Some experiences are best left unshared. Why invite the possibility of family discord into your experience. One bad disagreement could destroy the joy of the game for you. Just something to think about.
My girlfriend just started playing games this year. I threw her on a classic pserver and every MMO she's tried since has been a snoozefest for her. If the girl likes games, there isn't a better one to get her started with.
Don’t make a big thing out of it, just ask her if she wants to play for a bit and let it flow.
Thats a very optimistic point of view. I swear to god I hope I dont over-aggro the misses. If so, she most likely will one-shot me.
And not even blink...
Another time sink besides 2 kids, marriage and sporting quite a bit.
As a 54 year old I don't give a crap.I will be sitting next to my wife with headphones on as she watches NCIS & randomly says things to me that i am completely ignoring. Pretty much the same thing I did with her 10 years ago.
Awesome.
The only games my wife will play are Dr. Mario & SSX Tricky, she tried WoW & didn't like it. She also played D&D with my group back in the day, I was even the DM so I helped her a lot, but she didn't get it. She doesn't even like Mario Kart. Who doesn't like Mario Kart? I still love her though, we just have different tastes.
My girlfriend got into super casual World of Warcraft in Legion, I brought her the game, and set another computer in our room. I told her it's a fun game, and that she can give it a try if she wants, so after 2 hours in character creation, she made a Pandaren Rogue.
I told her that it's not about endgame, but having a ride.
After 4 months of playing casual she reached Northrend and she plays time to time and have a blast collecting transmogs.
Maybe Vanilla isn't the best place to start playing but hey, give it a try.
I played so much when I first got married my wife wanted to play to spend time with me. I was blessed. We shared my account for about a week before she was hooked enough to get her own account and start a hunter. I had to start an alt to play with her, but it was worth it. I got to play, I could carry her on my main through dungeons to twink her and we had lots of fun playing together. We had our first daughter and I would play one handed and hold her while questing. If you want her to be hooked, sacrifice a little of your own time on your main to play with her while she figures out how she want to play. Now my wife healed in BGs on an alt years later, but hates retail and quit around Pandaria. I think I can get her to play Classic, and rekindle the nostalgia.
Wife has absolutely zero interest in games, so no involvement. She sometimes will gaze at my screen and let me know that my undead female character is not cute at all, but outside of that she is pretty hands off.

No. You haven't learned anything at all. And no, I have never been catfished. I always talked with girls that I later met, and they did like the attention. Two of them had a laptop they always bring at my place, so that their bf can see them online and assume they were home ... It was a thing back then I guess.

I would love to involve my wife!
She enjoys playing Sims 3 and we will play side by side while I play my games she will play Sims 3.
So how can one compare Sims 3 to WoW so its an easy transition for her so we can play together which means I can play more
Create a family of Gnomes and work as a cook at the local inn?

Maybe no catfish, but the salt was dead on. Quit inviting bottom feeding cheaters over to your place and you'll stop getting burned as much.
I'm going to take a guess that everyone who has mentioned a wife or girlfriend in this thread is dating someone much higher quality than any of the girls you met, and that none of your experience with those types applies.

Are you for real? You don't know anything at all! And all things you said are wrong :O What's your problem, really?
I'm quite fortunate in that my spouse is an avid gamer herself. She actually used to play WoW a lot back in the day, as far back as The Burning Crusade. We played quite a bit of retail together over the years, but lately the live game has really lost its luster for me. She does not quite share my concern for retail WoW and is perfectly happy to just level alts and do some dungeon runs and rep grinding here and there, but she has expressed an interest in leveling a character in WoW Classic alongside me.
My guess is she will be playing as a warlock or a priest, and I think I will try to compliment whatever role she wants to fill with a shaman. Probably ele/resto so that I can be her support class, although if she decides to be a healer I could go full enhancement for the hell of it. Whatever we end up going with, it probably won't be fast or optimal but it will be fun. I'm happy I can get to enjoy WoW Classic with her. My stepbrother might even tag along occasionally, and dear Lord I hope he rolls a tank. We'd have instant dungeon parties all the time!
(tanking is not my jam)
