Ah yes, I too used to scroll through this site every day, getting more and more excited about classic at and before launch.
I myself just came back to the game, and leveling yet again. Before I took my long break I leveled very casually, stopping by each flower, enjoying the scenery etc and still do today so this explains why I'm still not max and probably wont be for a while. Mainly IRL stuff stopped me from playing, and then when I first returned I came back to a disbanded guild and unsubscribed friends so I lost motivation...
But now with nothing better to do I started fresh with a new character and I am finally enjoying the game again! So hopefully I will join you all in the max level cool kids club
Better late than never!

This was a real motivation killer for me too for a while. In my case it was the guilds that I joined falling apart repeatedly, along with none of my friends from back in the day really picking up classic. I quit for a couple months almost immediately after hitting 60 on my hunter, and it actually took a few weeks of me leveling a druid alt, embracing solo play and taking my time, to make me want to hop back on my main and playing for real again.
That and the real world plague made me want to go back to fighting against the Azerothian one.
Hi all - I am currently on a bit of a hiatus while I have other commitments for raid nights. I am pretty well BiS feral tank gear at this point and just waiting for AQ to drop. Haven't got a second level 60 yet, as I am mostly raid logging these days. I still enjoy playing, and wish I had more time to play.
Feral druid tanking is quite good, and I have been able to also output competent cat DPS on fights with minimal tanks required. I think I managed 1400dps on Vael a few weeks back. All in all it has been good fun and I am looking forward to experiencing AQ40 for the first time (only did AQ20 and first boss attempts in AQ40 in vanilla).
Hope everyone is doing well!
This is rather a sad story, however..I didn't get past level 21..my guild disbanded and I don't have any friends that play Classic. Trying to make an actual friend in-game is easier than retail..but they don't want to level at the pace I was..very slowly because I had never played Classic/Vanilla before. So I haven't played seriously since November of last year..haven't had a subscription since December of last year.
I'd be much more interested in TBC than Vanilla for me.
oh well, I guess I was in over my head with Classic.

Honestly dude, my suggestion is play the class that gives you the most immersion, play on a PC that can handle max graphics, and just play it like a single player rpg. This is what gets me back into the game every time.

I would be shocked if our characters would not move onto TBC. It's against everything that Blizzard does with how they work expansions. The question more in my mind is, will there be a classic vanilla server that remains for those that want to do vanilla but also TBC. We'll see how it all pans out.
