I don't remember my first BOE epic, however I remember my first BOE rare. It was https://classic.wowhead.com/item=11302/uthers-strength that has dropped for me in WPL at Uther's Tomb. I guess the name is fitting then. It was horrible, but I was so excited I still wore it.
I remember throughout time looting: https://classic.wowhead.com/item=14549/boots-of-avoidance , https://classic.wowhead.com/item=2824/hurricane and https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1973/orb-of-deception which was epic if not by name. However I can't say which one was first or if it even wasn't something else.
I was killing furbolgs on my human rogue for Timbermaw Hold reputation when a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1315/lei-of-lilies dropped. I was ecstatic! I gave it to a guildie.
Oh yeah that sweet https://classic.wowhead.com/item=3075/eye-of-flame from Un'Goro, good memories
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1168/skullflame-shield For my first character Paladin Dwarf :)
dwarven hand cannon was my first boe epic farming in winter spring on troll mage. sold it and was the first horde person with an epic mount on my low pop mountain time server
Not classic, but as an idea for how powerful world drops can be, at one point early in Cataclysm I got a world drop shield and rocketed up the charts to be in the top 5 geared tanks on the server. I can only hope I get something like that again!
Back in 2005 I received a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=2824/hurricane
This time around I would appreciate a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=943/warden-staff as I will be rolling with a Druid :)
On Nostalrius this happened & I received https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1728/teebus-blazing-longsword :
I think you're obligated to provide us screenshots of you fighting a yeti with TBL equipped.
Why a Yeti? 😂
I will try to find additional proof somewhere, but I used to use puush to upload images & they have unfortunately vanished from the net (the screenshot used in the original post was obviously not mine, as you can see my character in it).
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=873/staff-of-jordan was the first one that dropped on me I think! I remember it being really exciting.

I still remember all those years ago when I killed a coyote in the Badlands and a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=873/staff-of-jordan dropped. I sold it for 300 gold, which was a fantastic price at the time.
I don't have any particular desires for world drops, but a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1728/teebus-blazing-longsword would always be fun for the charm of the "front of the box" value.
I agree that Teebu's have a certain sentimental value since it's on the box!
It's funny now though because there are no high level Yetis in Dun Morogh (I think), they tricked us with a cool screenshot!
Original ad for the game:
Oh, how embarrassing! I actually don't think I have ever seen that
Back in Vanilla i got a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=809/bloodrazor while fighting quests mobs in WPL,
I made the mistake of equipping it as a paladin instead of actually selling it (:
This time around i dont really care what my first epic will be,
Aslong as i can get a good sell out of it to speed up my quest towards an epic mount
https://www.wowhead.com/item=812/glowing-brightwood-staff
I want to say it dropped for me in Duskwood, maybe in the Twilight Grove. It ended up paying for most of my epic mount cost.
Back in vanilla I could only play at my friends house and never got any world epics :(

That must have been incredibly frustrating, I don't know what I would do if I weren't able to have a 12hr+ sitting of gaming.
I don't think I've had any epic drops back in Vanilla even though I played nearly full time.
I was always envy of the people that got epic drops, it was such a gold boost.
Back in Vanilla a new realm (Vek'Nilash) was released during the easter holidays and everyone was powerleveling when this guy was walking around with a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=873/staff-of-jordan around level 40.
I remember finding the following items on Vanilla:
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=870
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1204
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=869
The following dropped on dungeons but I don't think I've won them
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=868/ardent-custodian
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=943/warden-staff
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=2291/kang-the-decapitator
And lastly these are the items I bought in late vanilla-early BC when I had a bit more money in my name, because I was leveling as a Paladin tank :D
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1168/skullflame-shield
https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1979/wall-of-the-dead < somewhat buyers remorse.
Looking back I now realize my drops were extremely lucky, I simply thought this was the drop rate of epics back then. Somewhat frequent but still rare.
Actually my account is really blessed with rare drops. I got both bindings (in BC) in a month, many of the rare mount drops in BC/Wotlk relatively fast.. I wonder if my luck will continue on Classic ;p
That was a fun trip down memory lane!
I got the Staff of Jordan on TBC (never played vanilla), but one of my favorite drops was the Six Demon Bag, pretty cool trinket!
It was a random ring off of trash outside BRD, I don't recall the name. Was +2 to several stats or something similar. I was so stoked I equipped it. Then regretted it as it was BoE and not really useful for my rogue. Live and learn haha.
