Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see the potential maximum damage your race / class combo can output by researching the best builds and the best items and all that. But - don't forget to do what YOU want to do, and just ENJOY the game.
Sorry, just think we all need a reminder of this from time to time - even me.
Don't listen to him guys, you must stick to what the spreadsheet says. Don't make choices because they seem fun, the spreadsheet knows best.
I started BFA a bit later than release and I leveled to max as quickly as possible. It was just about optimization and routes and going everywhere as fast as possible.
When reaching max lvl I asked myself what the general storylines of the zones were and I could only give vague answers. And there I was standing in the city waiting for world quests and dungeon queues... I felt I missed out alot and didnt really feel involved into the world.
Really want to change this for Classic and it's a bit sad that you have to remind yourself doing this nowadays.
But I'm just looking forward to get to know zones once again and know whats happening in them.
It can be pretty annoying knowing that you could be doing much more by rolling another race than the one you wanna play. A perfect example for this is Alliance Rogue. Wanna do good DPS but don't like humans? Go gnome for the pvp racial. Don't like gnomes? Play a dwarf. At least they have stoneform. Don't like them neither? Nelf it is, being the worst rogue race in the ally but my favorite one.
I wish the alliance weren't so linear with race-specific classes. Human warr/rogues, gnome casters, dwarf priests etc... The horde is so much more flexible when it comes to that.
Yup, why Im going to be tanking as Undead warrior
On one side, I wanna play as a Warlock, but in the other hand, I want to help people by healing or tanking. This is getting harder the closer we are to Launch day.

Hello Druid :)

Hello Druid :)
I practiced with a Druid on different servers, never reached raid level but it seems kinda hard to heal so many people. Maybe I'll end up giving a try, who knows. I already payed 3 months sub. My body is ready.

Maybe you should play Priest? You can be healing dungeons as a shadow priest or raid heal as a holy priest.

Yep paid my 6months sub last night, hadn't been subbed since Nov 2018.

Thats right! You won't have a third chance.

Don't forget about rolling gnome to piss off horde players. Especially gnome warrior. A gnome warrior with pink hair. A gnome warrior that spams /train while bunnyhopping away from horde corpses.
+10 to opponent anger is the best racial bonus in the game.

Last time I subbed was BFA Release, played that month and never again.
Don't forget to respect that others like to optimize the game and enjoy different things than you do! We all start the game casually and enjoy the exploration aspect of the game. Some of us choose to optimize that experience over the years and years we have played. Try not to be too judgemental and assume that we are ruining our own fun, because we may just be a bit more experienced than you are or simply enjoy things that you don't! The game needs those who would stop and smell the roses so that others can rush to 60, collect an epic 2hander and have someone to farm with that 2hander who stopped to smell the roses, to validate their efforts.
This is the best advice, whether you're an experienced player or a noob. Just enjoy the game, that's what we're all here for!
As they say, each to their own. I think everyone will enjoy it, as long as they don't let others dictate and control their playing. This goes for min maxers and for memes alike. Surround yourself with people who make your playing experience enjoyable, whether it be a hardcore raiding guild, a dungeon farming casual guild or something in between. Find your spot and have an absolute blast. Don't try to be something you're not, be yourself and look for enjoyment where you find it.

Sounds weird, why would any casual/ semi-hardcore player ever tell someone what to do. The message is about to enjoy the game in a way you like the most, if its your way - no one ever would tell you to step aside from it.
It's totally fine to level up as night elf shadow priest, protection paladin, or any other "meme spec" if that's what you wanna roll; sure it's not optimal but hey this is a game to enjoy not to worry about.
A lo of people seems worried they won't be able to find a spot in a raid or a dungeon, but let me tell you that when raid time comes a lot of guilds are gonna struggle to find 40 people to fill a roster. Sure there will be guilds that won't accept that one warlock or that one shadow priest because the debuff cap is reached under the current roster or because dps or whatever, but there will be guilds that they just want 40 people to fill the raid and you will be seeing probably the same content as everyone else on the server.
Don't be afraid to roll whatever you want just because it doesn't fit that one cookie cutter spec in that perfect spreadsheet. Just have fun.
PD: And of course respect those who wanna strive for optimization, that's out of the topic and common sense, respect everyone :)

Totally agree. Hence why I said "But - don't forget to do what YOU want to do, and just ENJOY the game."
If you want to play Shadow priest or Boomkin, go for it. but bear in mind that raid leaders demand specific roles that you may not enjoy.
Most guild's will likely allow 1 person to play the odd specs per raid for the buff's they provide.
like boomkin's https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=24907/moonkin-aura
They are both great in PVP.
