Is this video game actually excellent by today's criteria? That depends on what criteria youre using to judge it on. Most of this is subjective. For example, when WoW was released, many loved its cartoony graphics and still boast that they are timeless. Others were condemning them back then, laughing at how unrealistic they were in comparison to games of the late 90's and early 2000's. And others still, like myself thought they were okay then, and are tolerable now.

Do you play it only out of belief (it was excellent a long period of time ago). Are the servers still full? Is the boom over? I play it because I enjoy it. I enjoyed it then, I enjoyed it for years on private realms and I enjoy it now. Is it perfect? No. But my adoration for the game is far from being exclusively nostalgic. The servers are still populated and will continue to be. As players drop off (inevitable with all games) servers will be squished to maintain a healthy population.

I when heard that in WoW I could pay a monthly subscription for video game gold, is that true? If so, can I likewise purchase a registration for gold at WoW classic? You can buy a token to purchase gold on Chinese servers but this feature hasnt been added to NA realms yet. The topic is contentious with some users proclaiming that the token will never come to Classic NA, while others feverishly await its arrival and others still are hoping it doesnt get added but are open to the fact that it may be added when needed.

It really is fun going back and doing things I never did the first time around, so in that aspect I am really enjoying it for just being the original game. But it really is just a solid experience in general. At this point I'm still happy to just farm the same dungeons repeatedly, even when nobody in my group needs any items. We all get in discord and shoot the shit while playing as sloppy as we can while farming gold in a pretty slow way. It's like any other game or sport, I can continue to do the same content over and over again like I can shoot hoops on the same court and not get bored of the court. It's a hobby to get good at and hone your skills at, but more than that it's a place to meet your friends and hang out. Since just about every facet of the game requires close cooperation with others to be successful, just like fielding a winning sports team, it invites close friendships to develop and be maintained. Progression of my character isn't even my main focus at this point, I'm just logging in to be in Azeroth and hang out with my buddies. The entirety of the game seems to revolve around that, something which later iterations seem to have gotten away from.

COVID + Law Enforcement job </3. Working loooooots unfortunately haha. Miss it though. Every once in awhile I sneak onto super secret lowbie toons but dont get to play more than 1-2 hours per week. Barrens Chat is nice because I can sneak on while my partner drives around hunting for COVID people to yell at hahaha.
