5 of Each Class to Raids

I want to try something which I’ve been thinking about for a long time. A raid is comprised of 40 people and there is 8 playable classes in each faction. So I’ll take 5 of each class to the raid. Maybe it won’t be optimal but it won't be too bad. Why?

- Have you ever seen a vanilla raid that has 12 warriors, 8 rogues and 2 druids and hunters? It’s just depressing.
- It’ll feel balanced. People will think they were given a fair chance to become a part of a raid.
- Players will mostly compete against their own classes on DPS meter. They won’t always say “Oh I should’ve rolled a warrior or mage”
- Group identity and fun increases.
- It’ll provide opportunuties to play niche specs because the raid won’t need every 5 priest/druid/shaman to be healers. People who take this opportunity will be thankful and probably work hard.

Unfortunately we don't have any info on debuff limit yet.
(Well wo do!) Just learned it is 16 slots!

I’m looking for advice on this roster, currently 10 healers are assigned which could be increased to 11 or 12 but I'm not sure.

THE ROSTER:
Warrior - Tank
Warrior - Tank
Warrior - Fury
Warrior - Fury
Warrior - Fury
---
Druid - Feral OT (%3 Melee Crit buff)
Druid – Boomkin (%3 Spell Crit buff)
Druid- Heal
Druid- Heal
Druid- Heal
---
Priest – Shadow
Priest - Heal
Priest - Heal
Priest - Heal
Priest - Heal
---
Shaman – Enhancement (Improved Weapon Totems talent and Nightfall)
Shaman - Elemental
Shaman - Resto
Shaman - Resto
Shaman - Resto
---
DEBUFFS
1- Winter’s Chill
2- Sunder Armor
3- Curse of Elements
4- Curse of Shadows
5- Curse of Recklessness
6- Shadow Weaving
7- Nightfall
8- ?
9- ?
10- ?
11- ?
12- ?
13- ?
14- ?
15- ?
16- ?

Anybody knows the optimal debuffs?

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea. It would certainly be more fun. There's a lot of talk about ideal raid composition or BIS items. In reality, most guilds won't be able to achieve ideal composition and nobody will get all BIS items.

I've recently looked at some of my oldest screenshots from MC and I was surprised how many hunters and druids we had. It was just a reality of what was available on the realm.

Blizzard has already said that they're going with the 16-debuff limit

I really like this idea, my intitial thought is that it gives a more relaxed atmosphere by having each class represent in the same amounts.

As far as debuff slots go, we are actually getting 16 in Classic, so that gives a lot more wiggle room: https://www.wowhead.com/news=288407/blizzcon-2018-restoring-history-creating-wow-classic-panel

Edit: I see Black Monarch has beat me to it :)

The debuff thing makes this slightly ’inefficient’ but on the flipside it certainly is a fun idea and like you say will build a very unique identity for your guild which in turn will lead to a pretty strong group of players.

Hey teebling, this is the most beautiful forum of 2019 m8 congrats. Do you have any idea which 16 debuffs will be allowed to be applied to a boss?

Remember that not all encounters need to be a 40-player raid.

As soon as at least half the members have a minimum of 2-3 pieces of T1, Onyxia can be 15-manned, this is a common practice to split the guild in many simultaneous raids to take advantage of world buffs while at the same time gearing effectively faster.

MC can be 20/30-manned also as soon as everyone has enough resistances and/or have gear from BWL, this should be taken in consideration while planning for raid compositions in the long run.

15 men Onyxia sounds pretty hardcore. I'd love to try it one day. :surprised:

I think I'm not a fan of that idea. I'll probably keep it simple for my guild.

If you think that's pumping, know that with the right people and Naxx gear, Onyxia can be done with 5 players.
