I'd like to join but I feel like I'm already a little invested in Grobbulus.

Edit: If they would have released this shit sooner than immediately before launch... I mean wtf is that garbage?

Seriously. I'm so conflicted.

yep, there are now 26 Classic realms in north america. Blizzard basically doubled the amount of servers today. Lots of people facing the choice of waiting for 12 hour queues to die down to join their guilds, or move on to new servers by themselves. It sucks and I wish Blizzard handled this differently. Only opening a very small number of servers two weeks ago and waiting for them to get packed before opening more guaranteed this situation.

Too late to do anything about it now though.

Yeah except they didn't wait for them to get packed, they've all BEEN packed. Oh well. Hopefully they'll offer free transfers or something at some point.

After 3 hours in the queue yesterday, we only got to level 6 before 2 had to log. So now switching isn't the greatest amount of time wasted. I'll probably just watch closely today to see how the pops feel. If only we had a crystal ball to know future pops... lol

I didn't want to play on Grob because it was west coast and I'm east. So I decided to play on Incendius. Got to level 12, and it has been very smooth.

But man... had I known about this server launching before hand, I would have joined it in a second. Don't think I'll be rolling there until I decide to make an alt or something...

Of all the server types to release late, you'd do an RPPvP? Like, lots of people on Grobbulus have been associated with that server for weeks. And have formed communities.

What was the original number? Like 9?

I am not sure a second RP-PvP server was necessary. A lot of players on Grobbulus are conflicted about this. Queue times are a good thing. Obviously, 12k queue times are not ok, but Blizzard might have been too impatient by adding a second server.

Agreed. All of this hype will inevitably die down and then what? I think they're giving in too much. People need to relax, I know queues suck but they're healthy signs! It's always like this on launch day.

It's the BFA crowd. They are also upset they can't play BFA while in queue.

I firmly believe there should have always been an east coast rppvp option. It really irritates me that there wasn't from the start, and I am definitely in the "really conflicted" boat. I might start an alt on DD to check it out but idk what to do for the time being.

Update: I've decided I'm sticking on Deviate Delight. So far so good. Reached 10 tonight :)

I decided to stick to DD as well, and I have been having a great time. So far all my interactions have been nothing but pleasant. A few annoying trolls in the starting zones, most likely the touristy of tourists who are just there to stir shit up. Other than that, I've had a great time. Population feels pretty solid too. There's enough action to cause dynamic re-spawns, but not so much you're losing your mind looking for a target.

Moving on to the second areas, Goldshire/Kharanos/Dolanaar, there's still tons of people there to play and have fun.

These queues aren't going anywhere for awhile. In fact, brace yourselves for the weekend.

I'd rather play, and start making friends and memories, then spend hours in a queue for the next two weeks. Vanilla servers had what, 3k per server? DD could only have 15k and it's still going to feel massive compare to the ol' days. Maybe, we'll get down to a good 10k players with no layering by phase 2. Now that would be awesome.

Tried out skeram, was shot down again by queues. I'm now on DD for good. Calling this home.

I'm casp, human paladin. :)

Deep down I wanted to roll in Deviate Delight but my guild & friends have opted for Sulfuras. Initially they were heading to Herod, and since the queues were insane I went ahead and created a character in Deviate Delight just to mess around until things stabilized - I got her to level 5 and logged off in Goldshire. Later that evening they announced that the guild would move from Herod to Sulfuras.

I guess you can say that my very first Classic experience was in Deviate Delight, and for this reason it will always have a special place in my heart. :-)

I'm just gonna keep Grob as my main server but I'll use DD as my horde server. Dilemma solved.
