My money is on Herod.

They're keeping both Faerlina and Herod open to see which one they get their names on.

They only threw us Thalnos because it is the weakest name in their opinion. Personally, I'm not too interested in Thalnos either and will watch to see where the dust settles before making big decisions.

Take note that they even left Whitemane open as a last resort despite it not being in the right time zone. Three of the five PvP servers. What does that tell us?

Each of the streamers is going to try to create the best name they can on each of the three servers. After they do, they'll decide which of the servers they'll use. They would really rather have Whitemane than Thalnos which is interesting from the server location perspective, but likely their last resort.

I agree that we should revisit this after name reservations.

With respect to Thalnos, are you aware of anything tied to that server that is making you not particularly keen on it? We could all benefit from inside information if so.

New information: Brazilians are going to Thalnos. That will lead to additional fragmentation between English/Portuguese speakers. Personally I'm now leaning towards Herod or Faerlina, whichever one the Streamers decide not to go to next week.

Venruki, Soni and Ziqo are going to Grobbulus, but they are relatively low impact streamers. Main consideration is for those of us who want to stick to a NA East realm to optimize latency.

At this point the only guarantee for NA East PvP is that a significant number of Brazilian players will roll on the Thalnos realm (at least 11 guilds based on a recent announcement in the Thalnos Discord), primarily on Horde side.

Based on the current status of this poll and the other NA thread is that Faerlina is the current preferred realm of Barrens Chat denizens.

This is possibly due to the existence of a Reddit census showing Faerlina as having the best faction balance (just about 50/50 whereas Herod and Thalnos are roughly 60/40 in favor of Horde).

Ultimately the situation is subject to change if and when we receive updates from the Streamers regarding their server of choice, which may happen after name reservations next week.

Yea, I'm hoping Faerlina holds up as a good home for us East PVP players

Pisses me off there is not an east coast rppvp server. I guess I'll probably end up going to Faerlina with everyone else if that ends up being the one the barrens chat crew lands on once we know what the bulk of the streamers are doing.

Agreed, all the pre-realm announcement hype about RP-PvP got me interested, but as an avid PvPer I want to be in a server that's as low latency as possible.

Looks like Faerlina is getting the non-Portuguese SA refugees.

I haven't seen confirmation of that anywhere. Thus far all the LATAM Faerlina claims have been coming from US players, and none that I've inquired have been able to provide any sources, so I'm skeptical until I hear an update from the Spanish speakers.

I've been following their FB group, their Discord, and the US-ES Blizzard forums and so far they are undecided. Chatter in FB and the forums indicates that they have a meeting tonight between the 6 organized SA guilds to discuss and possibly finalize their decision.

A lot of their discussions about Faerlina center around the fact that many of their members assume that the streamers will go to Herod. At the end of the day the LATAM community is evenly divided between Alliance and Horde (3 guilds each faction) and are a much smaller group than the Brazilians - so in my opinion, even if LATAM picks Faerlina I am inclined to roll there provided the major streamers do not announce after name reservation that they intend to go to Faerlina.

rijndael I'm just going by the reddit survey you linked, which I'll concede is a poor indicator.

Possibly due to their expectation that the streamers are going to Herod. They may be deliberating under the same assumptions that we are - after all, the Barrens Chat community has also been voting for Faerlina at higher rates than Herod or Thalnos, even though I suspect that we're still mostly undecided.

That's pretty much the boat I'm in, I really wanted to roll rppvp just to experience an aspect of wow that I've hardly ever gotten to experience, but with pvp being my main goal I guess I'll have to see what my ping is on grobbulus and then make the call.

I also worry that the server being on Pacific time is going to further reduce my ability to raid, but who knows.

The other aspect is that with Faerlina looking like the barrens chat server, I'm very much tempted to roll there lol.

Update: the LATAM folks just updated their Facebook group.
(Disclaimer: translation courtesy of Facebook)

UPDATE INFORMATION ABOUT SERVERS

Information of the day Sunday 11 August.

At 23 hrs Argentina, 22 hrs Chile, 21 hrs Peru and 20 hrs Mexico. We will perform the meeting of gms latinos that are grouped to debate and seek a final criterion and to be possible the server to which we will go. The different gms will take that criterion back to their groups and in some cases they already carry the response of their guild ready, according to previous meetings.

So far we have 10 Guilds 4 ALLIANCE 5 HORDE AND 1 that still does not define their faction. The gms of these 10 guilds will represent all the players grouped in some brotherhood. If at the moment you don't belong to any of these 10 Guilds. Your Recruitment post is found in the group's releases at the top.

The meeting will be made on the server of the guild toxic, you can go listen, your doubts, comments or suggestions can channel them through their gms.

With the final result we will extend the players without brotherhood to play with us so that they can still opt for some guild or create theirs.

The players of pve who still have no brotherhood to represent them, we will find an option for them.

See you.

In addition, a LATAM guild from Ragnaros who appears to be unaffiliated with the Facebook group above has posted on Reddit announcing their decision to come to Faerlina:

UPDATE: I was able to get into the Discord for the LATAM meeting. They overwhelmingly voted for Thalnos as their server of choice. They are tentatively informing their folks that this is where the community will roll if all things remain as is. However, they are planning on meeting up again after name reservations to see if the streamers make any announcements, so they could potentially change their decision based on that.

We'll see what happens tomorrow.

That is great news. Thanks for doing this for us and keeping us updated. I'm organizing tentative name reserves for my friends tomorrow and it hurts knowing that even after the effort we might all have to move, so this is much better odds now.

I am hoping the Ragnaros guild changes their mind and heads to Thalnos as well, for everyone's sakes. They're going to need the community for replacing members as needed and getting fresh recruits.

rijndael Got screens or was this on VOIP? You're bilingual?

Barrens.chat really brings out the elite of Classic

Great news if they stay on Thalnos, allows the rest of the select few servers to stay decidedly North American.

I'm Brazilian American so I speak Portuguese and English fluently, and I'm able to understand a limited amount of Spanish (both written & verbal).

Note the most recent announcement on the LATAM Facebook Group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/WoWClassicLatinoamerica/announcements/
(If you request to join there's a good chance they'll just accept without any real vetting, which is what happened to me)

Below is the post translated to English using Facebook:
I want to share with you a brief summary of the meeting that was done a while ago. Concrete data was delivered, more or less the same information that has been given during Friday and Saturday regarding what happened in the different communities and servers.

The concrete data were:

- demographic survey on servers and population distribution by server

- post of the community avoid streamers that take for them the server server and do not want streamers and Latinos / Brazilians.

- survey of the Brazilian community

- tweets tweets announcing they won't use the thalnos server.

It could be discussed in a good way, with a lot of participation in chats by the more than 100 attendees.

In conclusion the server server is the least of the evils
Noting that the stigma loaded by the server that is from the Brazilian community is not so true, proving that no more than 6 % of the possible population of the server will be Brazilian. On the other hand the Latino community does not represent more than 4 % of the population of American servers.

A survey was carried out to measure the environment of the attendees to the meeting I share
https://www.strawpoll.me/18464354/

In a preliminary vote by the gms attendees 8 opted for thalnos and 3 PASSED THEIR VOTE 1 of them joined most.

The main reason is that on that server there are less likely to arrive the streamers and is the only one who has made reference to not playing.

Stay tuned to a next post where we invite the selected server.

Essentially, the majority of GMs voted for Thalnos (8 votes), whereas 3 abstained and 1 voted to join whatever the majority opts for.

Also, I've been discussing with the Brazilian community that plans to roll on Thalnos, and they've stated that the French Canadians are also planning on rolling on Thalnos.

If the streamers indeed opt for Herod, then Faerlina is going to be golden.
