Find that herb game.

I never realized how much I would miss the glow effect of the modern game until I tried to find herbs in Classic. See if you can find them.

there are times when I've given up on finding an herb that my map says is right in front of me. I swear that sometimes they spawn under the map.

They do sometimes spawn under map, had the same happen with a mining vein. It was an almost flat surface, no grass or anything.

Yeah, and the fact that they do sometimes spawn under the map makes it that much more frustrating.

Am I going blind, or is it under the map? It can't be under the map... that never happens... but I can't fucking find it... is it under the map? son of a bitch

I often have to turn down the "ground clutter" setting to zero just so the herb 'pops' out so I can actually see it.

Or maybe its the gnome in you that can't see over the grass  im kidding dont be mad!

The glow is nice in retail but I see it as when you accept a quest and you open your map to see exactly where to go!
Feels catered, feels too easy and lazy.
Next will be arrows on the ground pointing where to go, idk I enjoy the hunt lol
I enjoy the find and the where do i go next type of feeling.

You are not kidding, look at my pix from the Hinterlands. I had to turn down the settings just to see anything.

Max settings

Low settings

I know of one mining node in southern Silverpine and one in western Hillsbrad that are under the map.

You should just abuse layering to find a layer where the herb is more visible.

Don't really have this issue. Once you learn the 3d models to the herbs they kinda stand out.

Running at max was the first mistake. Personally I run on classic settings with lighting up, shadows up and a bit of extra clutter distance/amount. Everything else is as it should be.
